Maintenance FAQs

Q. What Are Incident Credits?

Incident credits are a convenient and flexible way for you to use I-Span to help maintain your web site. Rather than paying a regular hourly rate, incident credits allow you to pay for work at a much lower rate and in advance. When work is needed on your site, you simply use an incident credit to get it done. No need to worry about cost, you just use one of your credits and have I- Span complete your request.

Q. How Do Incident Credits Work?

Use prepaid Incident Credits to get work done on your web site. Simply submit a work request and I-Span handles the rest. With incident credits, the cost is already taken care of, so you have greater control over your expenses.

Q. How Are Incident Credits Charged Against Work Requests?

One incident credit is charged per request occurrence. However, a request occurrence could include several small updates at once as long as they are included on the actual submitted request form (not on separate attachments). An easy way to think of a request occurrence is anything that will be submitted on the I-Span work request form at the same time. Once you press the "submit" button on the request form with your request, you have just used one incident credit.

Q. Are There Any Restrictions On Incident Credits?

Incident Credits include all content updates and changes to the web site with client provided images, graphics and text. Credits also include adding a new page from an existing template and linking to that page from another page. Single page additions from templates are always considered one incident. Incident Credits do not include any major updates to the web site - those will be quoted separately. Major updates may include, but are not limited to, creation of or significant modification to graphics including logos, images and icons, structural changes involving rearranging the basic layout of any page including the navigation bar, the creation of or significant modification to multimedia files including flash, video and sound files, the creation of or manipulation of any scripting or Data Base files and the creation or manipulation to any e- commerce sections. Incident Credits expire after 1 year.

Q. What is the difference between the "incident based" and the "corporate" maintenance packages?

With incident based maintenance plans, you purchase a certain number of credits. When you submit a work request, you are charged a certain number of credits (almost always 1) per your maintenance request. The credits can be carried over from month to month and only expire after 1 year. With the monthly corporate maintenance plans, you purchase a certain number of maintenance hours per month and use those hours to fulfill your regular maintenance needs. The credits can not be carried over from month to month. (Note: the Corporate Pro Plan is unlimited monthly so there are no time limitations)

Q. Do we have to agree to a long term commitment with either type of maintenance package?

No. With incident based packages, you pay for your credits in advance and the corporate web site maintenance plans are month to month.

Q. Can I Buy Additional Incident Credits Anytime?

Yes! You can purchase additional incident credits in one of our predefined service packages as needed. Buy Them Now
